TAPI project: Active talks underway to bring in more investors

The TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, created to construct the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) pipeline, continues active negotiations with all the parties wishing to join the project.

Various options, such as taking part in the company’s share, project financing, funding through international development banks and with the help of export credit agencies from around the world, are now being studied.

As of today, the TAPI Pipeline Company Limited comprises gas companies of the participating countries.

Construction of the Turkmen section of TAPI was launched on Dec. 13, 2015.

The annual capacity of the gas pipeline will reach 33 billion cubic meters.

The total length of the TAPI pipeline will be 1,814 kilometers. A 214-kilometer section of the pipeline will run through Turkmenistan, a 774-kilometer section will run through Afghanistan and an 826-kilometer section will run through Pakistan.
