Kazakhstan, China negotiate cooperation in renewable energy

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev said China would support Kazakhstan in preparation and holding of the EXPO-2017. It is worth noting that alternative energy sources will be the main theme of the upcoming event.

 

The deputy premier also told about trade cooperation between the countries. “Kazakhstan and China enjoy dynamic development of cooperation in the oil and gas sphere. The sides signed the agreement on construction of Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline. The issues regarding financing of the second stage of the project have been settled. The construction of the second phase of Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline was started,” he added.

 

Bakytzhan Sagintayev also noted that in early 20414, the volume of investments from China to Kazakhstan exceeded USD 20 bln including USD 5.68 bln of direct investments. As a result of joint efforts, the bilateral trade volume made USD 22.5 bln. The exports of Kazakhstan made USD 14.3 bln, the imports made USD 8.1 bln.
