President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev had a meeting with the delegation from Poland led by President Andrzej Duda.
At the meeting, the parties signed a Charter to the Green Bridge Partnership Program and the Agreement on economic cooperation between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Development and Finance of Poland.
During the meeting, Nazarbayev pointed out the results of his last year's visit to Warsaw, during which 15 commercial agreements worth almost $1 billion were signed at the Kazakh-Polish business forum and an agreement to launch direct airlines between Kazakhstan and Poland was inked.
Nazarbayev said that last year, 10 new Polish-Kazakh enterprises opened in Kazakhstan and Polish investors channeled about $100 million into Kazakhstan. He said that Kazakhstan is a key trading partner for Poland in the region and a reliable foothold for entering the markets of Central Asian countries and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Andrzej Duda, for his part, said that Nazarbayev's last year visit to Poland gave the momentum for the improvement of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Nazarbayev and Duda gave a joint press conference, during which Nazarbayev reminded that Kazakhstan and Poland mark 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties this year.
"115 enterprises with the participation of Poland operate in our country and more than $200 million of direct investments were invested. Interesting prospects are opening up in machine building, agriculture, energy, chemistry, transport, construction fields," he said.
Nazarbayev expressed readiness for joint implementation of projects in transport infrastructure field.
In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked Andrzej Duda for ratification of the enhanced partnership and cooperation deal between Kazakhstan and the European Union.
