Kazakhstan and the EU to sign a new agreement on partnership and cooperation

The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan, the Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez. 

 

Gulshara Abdykalykova thanked Aurelia Bouchez for her hard work on the expansion of bilateral relations and significant contribution to the development of negotiations between Kazakhstan and the European Union. For merits in strengthening peace, friendship and cooperation, the Ambassador of the European Union was awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Jubilee Medal "20 Years of Kazakhstan Constitution".

 

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of the international agenda and further prospects of bilateral cooperation.

 

An important result of the constructive engagement was the initialling of the new Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union on enhanced partnership and cooperation on 20 January, 2015 in Brussels. Its signing is expected this autumn.

 

At the end of the meeting, the State Secretary G. Abdykalikova stressed the high level of bilateral relations and expressed confidence in maintaining progressive and positive dynamics in the foreign policy, socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
